Finishing orthodontic treatment feels great. The braces come off, or you pop out your last aligner, and there’s the smile you worked for. Then the question shows up. What happens if my teeth move?
It’s a fair thing to wonder. Teeth naturally drift over time, and the lower front ones are especially prone to crowding up again. A lost retainer can speed that along. At Chelian Orthodontics, we don’t think a small shift should land you with another full treatment bill. So we created the Smile Guarantee.
It’s our two-year promise to patients who complete comprehensive treatment with us. If your teeth relapse, meaning they drift back toward their old positions, or you lose a retainer during those two years, we’ll help you get back on track for a low monthly payment. You can rest easy knowing your smile is covered.
“We don’t charge a full treatment fee to retreat them,” says Dr. Chelian. “We offer a low monthly payment option to get them corrected.”
Life happens. “Kids are going to be kids,” says Dr. Chelian. “Even adults are going to be adults.” Retainers get left behind on flights and in restaurants, and nobody here is going to judge you for it. We’d rather help you fix it.
That depends on the kind of treatment you had:
Clear aligner patients. After comprehensive treatment (usually 12 to 14 months or more), you get unlimited refinements for a low $250 a month for up to two years. Unlimited means no set number of tweaks. A refinement is a new set of aligners that fine-tunes your teeth if they’ve shifted or need a little extra movement.
Braces patients. If your teeth relapse or you lose a retainer within two years, we retreat you at a low monthly rate over about 4 to 6 months. That restores your alignment, and you finish with a brand-new set of retainers.
Some people are drawn to a shorter, limited plan of 6 to 8 months because it sounds quick. A comprehensive plan of 12 to 14 months takes longer, sure. But it gives us more room to refine your results as we go, and if small shifts happen later, you aren’t paying full fees all over again.
A little more time now. A lot more flexibility later.
Take-home kits often run $2,000 to $2,500, and the lower price up front can look tempting. But if something shifts, you may be on your own, or you end up at an orthodontist’s office paying for treatment anyway. With the Smile Guarantee, the protection is built into your plan from day one.
