Dr. Chelian grew up in San Diego, California and earned his Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree from the prestigious SDM Dental College of India, rated the number one dental college in all of Asia. He then acquired his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from Boston University, Goldman School of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Chelian practiced general dentistry in Massachusetts and Rhode Island before showing an interest in orthodontics. He conducted research on Accelerated Osteogenic Orthodontics (Wilckodontics) a method to shorten time in braces and obtained his certification in Wilckodontics. He then went on to complete his specialization in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics from Boston University, where he had the privilege of training directly under Dr. Anthony Gianelly, a world-renowned orthodontist and founder of the modern Bi-Dimensional technique.
During his orthodontic residency, Dr. Chelian received advanced certification in Invisalign and obtained his board certification to become a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. Only 1 in 3 orthodontists is board certified. Achieving board certification is the last step in a long and intensive educational experience to ultimately provide excellent patient care. Dr. Chelian is now a Platinum Provider of Invisalign, one of the top provider statuses attainable!
Continuing Education
Dr. Chelian’s passion for orthodontics relies on many hours of continuing education. He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Massachusetts Dental Society, New Hampshire Dental Society and the Greater Nashua Dental Society. He holds dental licenses in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island.
Life Outside of Orthodontics
In his spare time, Dr. Chelian enjoys spending time with his wife, Vihangi, who is a dentist, and their son, Viren. They love to travel together and meet new people, learn new cultures, and try different foods. Dr. Chelian’s favorite city is Prague and his life goal is to visit as many countries as he can. He loves cooking ethnic foods, hiking the beautiful mountains of New Hampshire and reading about world history, wine, art and anything interesting.
